Anna
Sponer is a self taught
artist,
Born and raised in Hamilton,
Ontario.

charcoal as a medium
followed by soft pastel (black and white) incorporating color shortly after.
The majority of her latest art work is now created in oil on canvas.

a diversity of artistic subjects are
displayed
together
with the many portrait paintings of numerous persons including works

Since 2004, Anna has held numerous exhibitions throughout the Greater
Hamilton Area,
in addition,
has been commissioned to create original paintings for individuals and
corporations
in the United States, Europe and across Canada.
Her diverse collection
of paintings
represent the impressionistic style
with a touch of expressionism.
Anna has a unique way of visualizing and creating exceptional works of art.
By utilizing her images, studying and exposing them to the public
they become real, personal and in depth.
Anna's treatment of lighting and shadows, emphasized in her
portraits
and other artistic subjects, dynamically embrace and transcend
the expression of human emotions.

Artist Statement
The style and composition of my art,
is an interpretation, of my personal
impression of the visual and emotional elements, of my subjects.
By
combining both elements
with the
theme, I strive to create an expressive harmony.
In my latest paintings, I
focus on capturing a dramatic emotional reaction,
retaining a mystery and a hidden narrative by the use of receptive
compositions,
which entice and provoke the viewer's
senses.
The challenge of creating in depth images, encourages
me to evolve, and inspires me
to explore my own emotions and personal experiences,
connecting me to my subject, through which an art piece is created.
